POST 4: Childhood Series

When I think about the television series that I watched as a child, I remember “Barney and friends” or “Bananas in Pyjamas” and the songs that I sang over and over again to my family. I remember the boring faces of my teenage siblings saying: "No, here we go again". I loved the Nickelodeon cartoons, like Rugrats. My family knew how much I liked them so all the gifts they gave me were from the characters in diapers. I had teddies, clothes and even linens with the faces of the characters. All the merchandise that you can imagine,  I really liked them a lot. Today the series that I watch are very different from the ones I mentioned before, but if I’m making zapping and I find some series of my childhood I leave it and I give myself to nostalgia.

POST 3: My favourite piece of technology

The portable music players have made my days much more entertaining. Usually people use their cell phones to listen to their favorite songs. However, I prefer a device that is exclusive to listen to music. When I was 11 years old, my mom gave me a Sony Walkman Mp3 Player, that had a capacity for approximately 30 songs, very little capacity for these days. But I didn’t care, I was happy with those 256 MB. Over time the players increased their capacity and I could listen to the complete discs that I liked the most.  Today I don't have to download music from internet as before, I only need to pay a monthly subscription to an application that allows me a broad musical catalog. For this I bought an iPod Touch that is like a cell phone but doesn’t receive calls. It’s wonderful! No message or call interrupts my music.

POST 2: Why did you choose this career/study programme?

I am studying journalism, but it was never my first option.  When I was a child I wanted to be a musician because my brother gave me a musical keyboard and I learned to play some songs. I really enjoyed to do that until today. After that, when I became a teenager  I started to listen to British bands like Oasis or The smiths, so I asked to my dad an electric guitar. The music has been very important in my life. But with the music I had no future in a country like Chile. Then I thought that journalism would allow me to be in contact with the music.   When I think in a perfect job, I think in do interviews to musicians or report concerts.
